This book was about a poor young boy that finds a genie's lamp. The Genie grants the young boy three wishes. One of his wishes results in him meeting a princess. However, when the Genie finds the boy has good fortune with the lamp, he demands the boy go to jail. By the end of the book, the boy and Princess live happily ever after.

I enjoyed this book. This book had all of the characteristics of modern fantasy. It displayed good vs. evil and in the end good prevailed. It was somewhat different show more the Disney version, but I think better. Throughout the book you look forward to what is going to happen to Aladdin. In addition, the book has foil on the pages to accent things such as the Genie's lamp and the Genie appearing.

For extension ideas for this book, in your classroom you could talk about good vs. evil, the magic that happens in the book. You may also want to talk about where the story takes place.

Sure, Thanksgiving is about pilgrims and history--and turkey, of course!--but most importantly, it's a holiday all about everything that we are thankful for. Cheerful, colorful illustrations accompany the simple text in this celebration of family, friends, and the holiday that brings them all together.
Great book to read before Thanksgiving as a read aloud in class. It is important to show students that we give thanks to people who help us and love us. I recommend reading some sort of book that is like this to students in the classroom. You could have students write about who they are thankful for and draw a picture after reading.
This picturebook is a great story about things we should be thankful for. It teaches children what Thanksgiving is really all about.
