Heed the warnings on this book as it is a very extreme book! Lots of gore, torture, and lots of gag reflexes throughout the whole book. It takes a lot to gross me out, but this book did just that as it was the grossest horror book I have ever read.
The story revolves around Pam, a woman that her whole life she has lived in hard times and for a living she cleans bathrooms. She finds a genie lamp on the floor of one her job bathrooms, rubs it and is very surprised when an actual genie pops out. show more He tells her that he will grant her six wishes, but she has to complete six tasks to be able to have each wish. What she doesn't know is that the tasks she has to do are some of the most vilest things she has ever done, but if she wants her wishes granted then she will either have to do them or pay the consequences herself.
This book was filled with some of the most extreme situations I have ever read and believe me I have read some splatterpunk books, but they were nothing like this book. I was able to get through the book in about three hours as I couldn't put it down though at times I wanted to put it down as I didn't know if I would be able to get through it without that "gag reflex". Thankfully, I didn't eat anything before going to bed! Giving this book four stars. show less

Poorly edited and written with a lack of understanding or empathy, this is extreme horror in the most blankly cruel way. Not a book I enjoyed, I like, even with my underground horror, to find a truth and heart underneath the grime and the gore. This lacked any redeeming quality. An intriguing concept buried clumsily with a heavy hand.
This was a cool extreme horror story!
A small backstory:
Freya Flynn has an unusual hobby that takes her out into the night seeking out men that are up to no good and that like to take advantage of unwilling women. Freya blends in with the shadows as she walks around the city providing her own brand of justice.
What she doesn't know is that someone is onto her as she starts receiving anonymous letters wanting her to perform certain tasks or they will let the truth be known of what she is doing. show more She decides to go along with what the letters say to do up to a certain point as she has plans for this person and she is going to figure out how to get out of it one way or another.
Thoughts:
This was a short story, but it packed a wallop of suspense and tension within its pages. I have read this author before so I knew I was in for a treat with this book. Parts of the book have extreme elements but this book is mild compared to what I have read by this author before.
The pace is fast and the story rolls right along at a quick clip. There was a major twist near the end of the book that I did not see coming which accelerated this book up to full throttle. Giving this one four "Revenge" stars! show less

Fifteen years ago, Casey Brown and her college friends did something very, very bad to an innocent girl.
What really happened to poor Mary Blake that night?
There are whispers in the woods that surround that old abandoned house. Urban legends are repeated, and sightings of their usual suspects are sworn on – by a friend of a friend of that guy’s second cousin who knew a dude who swears they saw ‘He/She/It’ one dark, and stormy night. Bloody Mary, the Slit-Mouth Woman, Click Clack, the show more Slender Man… they aren’t the only boogeymen in those woods…
People say that the house is haunted by it’s original owner… The things that Mr. Jones did to his wife and two daughters went way beyond ‘slaughter’ – the depravity of his actions makes the family’s eventual slaughter a blessing.
Now, Casey’s nightmares are invading her waking life.
Mary Blake is back, and she’s not alone.
Only the truth will set her free. show less
