This was a very sweet, mini version of the movie. I loved the illustrations. They were bright and colorful, very appealing to children. I love how Rapunzels long blonde hair flows throughout the pages. I also enjoy the characters in this story. I love how sweet and friendly Rapunzel is, little girls all over the world admire her. I also like the evil, yet loving mother Gothel is portrayed as. She is very selfish, but shows a unique love for Rapunzel by expressing her love for her and giving show more her everything she wants inside of the tower. The overall message of this story is that everyone has a dream, and it's important to try to make them come true. show less
As I'm sure you're aware I love Rapunzel. The stories main message is about exploring the world outside of your comfort zone and bravery. The movie of course delves into the message more but this little book was fun to read. The modern movie and depiction of Rapunzel is a spin off of a German fairy tale, which classifies it as traditional literature. Rapunzel finds her confidence without her mother and she is able to be herself and be happy outside of that abusive relationship.
This is a great book that is a play off. Its about a young girl who is trapped in a castle by her step mom. I love this tory be cause the young girl is so determined to leave that she will not stop at any thing. This would be a great book for girls who want to gain independence.
Rapunzel, a young princess, is taken by an evil woman when she learns that her hair is precious and can make others younger. Rapunzel's "mother" takes care of her in a tower, keeping her locked up, and never cutting her hair, knowing that if she does, she will never be able to grow younger again. Flynn stumbles upon the hidden tower by accident, and Rapunzel leaves the tower with him to discover the floating lanterns that appear on her birthday every year. While gone, Rapunzel and Flynn fall show more in love, and Rapunzel discovers that she is the lost princess that everyone has been searching for. Flynn cuts her hair to save her life, and her evil "mother" dies, and Rapunzel is finally reunited with her parents. She and Flynn get married, and live happily ever after. show less
