Of the many books of photographs of Princess Diana, this is undoubtedly one of them. That may be the best one can say. Its focus could hardly be more superficial -- her wardrobe. We are shown what she wore here and there to this and that official event and excusion: dresses, skirts, blouses, jackets, hats, and fashion accessories. Published in 1983, it has only two years of material to draw upon, but makes the most of it. We're told by the author that in those two years, Diana had an show more astonishing impact on the fashion world, that she won world- wide admiration for her style and design. Nearly any young woman with an unlimited budget, expert advice, several personal maids, and the world's fashion designers throwing themselves at her feet could have done the same. Fortunately, Ms. Spencer is remembered for more than the trivialities this early book was in a position to recognize. For those interested in Princess Diana, there are much better works available. show less
