A very interesting look at the ideal of Womanhood at the turn of the century. A feminist would probably burst a blood vessel! I enjoyed reading it as a picture in time, and some of the advice is perfectly sound. The book itself is handsome and beautifully done.
Christian homemaking in 1899. When I came across this book in a used book store (The Book Loft, Solvang, CA) I knew I had found a treasure. Chapter titles include "When the Young People Grow Up", "Mornings with the Bible", "With Level Eyes", "Young Women and Self-support" and others, 22 chapters in all. Quaint illustrations and poems throughout.
Great, inscribed Clarinda B Boltwood November 30, 1911
