From the late Fifties to the early Seventies, when the Bryant was involved in motorsports, it appears that he managed to bounce off of just about everyone in the English-speaking world who wasn't associated with NASCAR; including people in the worlds of sportscars, Indy, and F1. This means that Bryant has a vast range of anecdotes and experiences and seems to hold back on few of his memories. While the climax of the book is Bryant's involvement in the Can-Am series, where the guy with a show more secondary-school education and a certificate from a tech school finds himself designing the fastest cars in the series, what's possibly the single most important chapter is the one where Bryant recounts his brief involvement with the Indy 500, only it's especially significant in that Bryant was involved with the ill-fated Mikey Thompson specials, and he does some debunking of the tragedy of 1964. show less
