Abe Opincar

Abe shares memories of his in short vignettes that illustrate how closely tied food is with events in our lives. Some of his memories are linked with his Jewish roots and many from his travels to Japan, Paris, and Istanbul.

It seemed like Opincar just sifted through a bunch of his writings that had anything to do with food and plopped them in a pile. Some stories were semi-interesting, but forgettable. He's been interesting places and had interesting friends, but he himself didn't seem very.

Short, well written little essays on food, loss, travel.

Too introspective by far, but I still fry eggs with turmeric. Yum.
