Alex’s hand, the notebook is a fusion of traditional hereditary witchcraft lore and the high magical teachings to be found in several much older books of ceremonial magick, a common practice from the nineteen fifties. The notebook seems to imply what has already been discussed at length of a link between folk magic practices of the cunning-men and hedge witches of family traditions and the ceremonial practice of Abramelin. Or at least shows that is the progression of Alex's practice. While show more some of the material in the notebook is clearly from Crowley, it has Alex's thinking on that information, and his unique stamp. But the end of the book is clearly the beginning of something new for him. show less
