Riverbend, Texas is town where many who enjoy polyamorous relationships have chosen to live. Best friends Jared and Quade new they wanted to have one wife for the both of them from a young age. Due to the fact that they were raised in town it was accepted and Jared’s parents had such a relationship. Quade had a rough childhood and that gave him better insight into what Lexie was going through. The guys had to convince Lexie that they loved her and that she was worthy of being loved. First show more they had to gain her trust. Trust that they weren’t going to change their minds about her, or have personality changes and suddenly start to beat her. Jared and Quade are two very hot and handsome cowboys with soft, loving centers.
Lexie feels stuck in a very abusive relationship. She doesn’t have much of a backbone throughout most of the book. It has been beaten out of her. It takes the love of two cowboys to help Lexie rebuild her courage. When her boyfriend beats her unconscious Jared and Quade get her to the hospital and convince her to take a job as their cook.
Lexie takes the job to earn enough money to get out of town. She doesn’t realize the brothers gave her the job to protect her, keep her close to them, and allow them the time to “woo” her. Lexie has to fight her insecurities and the fact that everyone throughout her life has eventually left her. Lexie’s letting the past go and accept love was hard and sweet to witness.
This is a fast, enjoyable read. It has the soul mate thing going on. The guys see the girl and bam they’re in love/she’s the one. The sex was steamy, if a bit predictable. Then again not sure how many ways it can be done? ;) I will say it was realistic, hot, and in no way cheaply done. If you like hot cowboys, ménage, and just a touch of angst this is a book for you.

This is a story that focuses on loss and love. Yes, it’s a ménage, and a great one. What I loved most was the developing relationship between the three and the fact that there was no one in immediate danger or that no one was trying to interfere with the relationship.
Russell, what can I say about him other that he’s a strong man with a soft heart and tender touch? He recognizes and accepts his feelings for Celina pretty much from the start and supports her in any way he can while still show more protecting her.
Abe is a man who has sealed not only his heart, but his person off from the world. He’s been living alone for eight years and finds it difficult to let himself care for others. Abe is scared of losing what he love’s most all over again.
Celina is pregnant and just lost her husband when Abe and Russell find her. It takes her a bit to deal with the feelings growing for the two men in relation to having lost her husband. She’s a strong woman who made a conscious decision to love again and her strength comes through.
I really like the fact that we get a fair amount of the story after everyone accepts the relationship and we got some time to meet the baby. Like I said earlier this is an erotic ménage and the sex was very hot and well written, but the love story was what made the book for me.

Since the summary says it all, I'm just going to delve into my impression of the book. And here we are again with two hot ranchers, who find a woman nearly half frozen on the side of the road in the middle of a snow storm. They rescue her by taking her back to their ranch where they plan on warming her back to consciousness. We all know the quickest method of warming a cold body – sharing body heat. When she wakes up the next morning, she's naked and sandwiched between two fine male show more specimens. And here we go ...
She's shocked, but not terrified. Wouldn't you be terrified if you wake up in a strange place, in a bed, naked with two men, and no idea how you got there?
As soon as she wakes up and speaks to them for the first time, Brady is instantly taken by her. He asks Brock if he "feels it too" and that "she's the one"? What? Apparently this sort of instant attraction and knowing on sight that a woman is "the one" runs in the family, seeing as their mother and two fathers are also in a permanent menage relationship.
Of the two brothers, I liked Brock the most. Brady just seemed so immature, whining all the time trying to think of ways to make Jeni stay and fall in love with both of them. Brock was more serious, and intense. Preferable over the "kid".
The drama of the story doesn't come from Jeni and her trying to navigate her feelings about falling for two men, or the societal repercussions. Her ex-husband is after her, and will use any means necessary to get her back. Even resorting to violence.
I'd have thought the drama of her ex and the showdown would carry all the way until the end of the book, but surprisingly it's over and done with near the half to three-quarter mark. That's where the story takes a nose dive as all three of them get muddled in miscommunication and assumptions. Honestly, don't adults talk anymore? Why is guarding one's heart against rejection so much more preferable than laying all the cards on the table and knowing where one stands?
Anyway, the loving was hot, the story itself failed to make me remove my sweater. And yes, as another reviewer already pointed out, the synopsis sounds very much like [b:Colters' Woman|44488|Colters' Woman (Colters' Legacy, #1)|Maya Banks|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1255575030s/44488.jpg|43837], minus one brother. show less
Hmmm I'm not quite sure about this one. It was definitely an enjoyable read but it just didn't read quite right for me. Possibly a touch too short to really allow me to connect with the characters completely. I just felt tad removed while reading it. Not that there's anything wrong with that, I don't mind reading for enjoyment alone (refer to my love of z-grade fiction) but this (and it's sequel) just weren't quite there for me.
