- Short biography
- "Ann Sheldon" is a house pseudonym that was initially created by the Stratemeyer Syndicate for use on the Linda Craig series of western mysteries.
The first five volumes published in the 1960s by Doubleday were ghostwritten from Stratemeyer Syndicate outlines by Damaris Goehring, a horsewoman who appeared frequently with her husband Clyde Goehring in western parades, including the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena. The last volume from the 1960s was probably written by Harriet Stratemeyer Adams because Goehring died.
The Stratemeyer Syndicate revived the series in the early 1980s by reprinting the first six volumes under the Wanderer imprint of Simon & Schuster. To this six more titles were added, ghostwritten by Sharon Wagner of Arizona, a woman who wrote horse stories under her own name.
After the Stratemeyer Syndicate was sold to Simon & Schuster, they launched a new Linda Craig series with different ghostwriters. - Nationality

A classic 1960s book about a teen girl and her palomino, Chica D'Oro. Linda, her brother and friends solve mysteries in the California desert near their home of Rancho Del Sol. This is a nostalgic read for me; I adored this book series from the time I was about 8 to 11 and checked them out from the library all the time.
This is the first book in the Linda Craig series. I acquired my copy on eBay a few years ago, but as I child I checked out these books often. A lovely nostalgic read.
This is my least favorite of the Linda Craig series, but it was the only one I was able to obtain as a teenager.
