I really enjoyed reading this book. I plan to use its contents as an end of year math activity next year. With some planning, a lesson activity could be developed for the students. The activity will involve my students planning a monthly budget for the expenses they will incur when setting up house for the first time. This book is easy to understand and is a great way to connect math to daily living activities. The author is a teacher who is qualified because she teaches money management skills.

This book is part of a series by the author which proposes that math is a 24/7 activity. It is used in countless different activities each and every day of our lives. This particular book shows how planning a trip and traveling require us to use our math brains.Buying tickets, time zone travel, money exchange, gas mileage and budgeting all involve math activities. Each is explained and answered with an answer key in the back of the book. Informative read.
