Once again, I really enjoyed this— but I’m not sure “psychopath incel wannabe rapist” gets to be redeemed for experiencing One Human Emotion. I’d rather the narrative keep remembering how awful he is! And take it with a grain of salt, because as much as I hated him in the first half of the manga, I eventually found his over-the-top disgusting nature hilarious. Sort of like how some of the over-the-top gore is downright comical! And this volume is no exception.
Loved the amount of show more references to other horror media in this series, especially in this volume. The Uzumaki one really had me chuckling! show less

Well, the season one finale seems to be a good place to quit reading this series. I only read so far 'cuz I got vols. 4-8 from the library all at the same time. There are a few scenes of ultraviolence that are shocking, but the misogyny of the fan service and the dullness of the plot just make this a miserable read despite its promising start. That seems to be a frequent problem with Japanese manga. Things like Attack on Titan and Death Note and World Trigger have some cool starting show more concepts. But then as the creators realize they actually need to create chapter after chapter they get bogged down in introducing new characters, expanding the plot and pandering to the audience. I wish volume 8 had even half the creativity and energy of volume 1, but that's a hard trick to pull off apparently. Good riddance. show less
Absolutely my favorite volume of MGA! [Redacted] had the perfect, most fitting, most HILARIOUS death scene I could have ever hoped for. And while the whole “no, t’was I who planned it all! No it was me! No me!” was getting old, I think we ended up in the best worst place that could have brought us.
This series really has very little going for it. The more it tries to move from a ultraviolent and campy satire into having a real plot, the less I'm liking it. The last page reveal of the villain behind it all had me going, who is that again?
