As far as re-creating genuinely nice, attractive clothing from recycled or thrift store finds is concerned, this is THE best book I have come across thus far. Instructions are generally quite clear, well illustrated--i had only one question at the end of the whole book.

I don't pay for a lot of books, but this is one I'm definately going to purchase when I can, both for the great instruction, and because I am just thrilled with the mission of the authors and their contagious fun attitude.
Sewing is making its way back into the crafting mainstream with books coming out every month that appeal to the younger indie and PDX crowd. This is the book if you just got a hand-me-down sewing machine, or want something more personal than the manual that came with their Singer. While there is no sub for having a hands on guru to show you, this book deserves an honorable mention for being fresh yet informative!
Fun to flip through. It's a bit too simplistic for experienced sewers but doesn't have enough instruction for an actual beginner.
