I liked this book for a few reasons. For one, I liked the illustrations. Since this is a lower level reading book, I think the pictures were appropriate in order to help students comprehend events taking place in the story. Also, since this book is intended for younger students, I think the plot of the story was well organized for them to follow along. I think students would be able to follow along with the story also because they may be able to relate to the events in the story. For show more example, the animals in the story build a snowman and have hot chocolate in the end. Many children do these activities with family and friends. The big idea of One Snowy Day is that when people cooperate and work together, they can make something that will benefit them all. In the story, all of the animals worked together and in the end, they created a snowman that was described as “their new friend.” show less

This book is about all the activities that you can do on a snowy day and how to enjoy it! It is a fun book to read during the winter time when there is snow outside your window and you're not sure what to do with it. I would recommend reading this book and then going outside and enjoying the same fun that the bear and his friends did!
I really like this book and I think it is great for lower elementary. I would use this book in a kindergarten room since they are learning to count this could be very beneficial to them. Also, I think the younger kids would love singing to it and the rhymes!
Tells the story of building a snowman from the point of view of the animals.
