Christopher Rothero has compiled and illustrated one of the better Man At Airs books in this effort. There are adequate battle plans of Falkirk, and Bannockburn. While the photos rely heavily on funerary monuments, the plates are clear on the armours and heraldry chosen.
An Osprey handbook of the Agincourt forces, with the usual brasses and some good quality line drawings, as well as the usual eight plates. Sadly Rothero does not employ the exploded diagrams of armour that one finds in later handbooks on this theme.
A useful handbook for the figure painter, and those interested in Brasses, and old weapons. Since this publication, the received account of the battle of Poitiers has undergone severe revision. check the battle with the Campaign book from the same publisher, or, for the scholarly, the works of Jonathan Sumpton, or Ann Curry. there are some Froissart quotes, and manuscript photos.
