Strange, offbeat, and did I mention Strange? The whole shebang is a weapon itself, the book weighs about five pounds and is printed on some of the best paper stock I have seen in years, even for novels. Enter the world where for a few "franks" (coins with Frankenstein's monster on them, you were warned that this was strange) you can buy a one shot assassin robot, called a SCUD, from vending machines on every corner, like the cigarette machines of the 1970's. But what happens when a SCUD show more happens to read the warning label on it's back in a mirror while about to complete the assassination it was purchased for, the warning for bystanders to keep clear as the SCUD will self destruct on completion of it's mission? What would you do if you discovered something like that about yourself? If you like the weird and offbeat get The Whole Shebang! or I'll start looking for a vending machine. (PS SCUD's paint scheme is kind of Ronald McDonald) show less
This was great totally irreverent and funny. The story is incredibly entertaining. Scud is a robot designed to wreak revenge for you and then blow up upon completion of said revenge, so there is no evidence. The only thing is that Scud is very self aware and he doesn't want to blow up. So you follow his adventures as he tries to earn money and keep his target alive. My only complaint is that action scenes can be very busy and tend to be difficult to follow.
