A fun spoof of Star Wars, with a bit of Star Trek mixed on. Lots of pretty good jokes that have actually aged, unlike some other movies from this era.

2025 movie #109. 1987. I apparently saw this movie (according to my wife) many years ago but don't remember any of it. It's pretty funny but not very memorible I guess. Mostly a parody of Star Wars with some other SF classics thrown in like Star Trek and Aliens.

Two guys rescue a space princess.

Some famous people in the cast are the only clue that this was a professional Hollywood production and not just something some friends put together after school. But that might actually be one of it's best attributes.

When the nefarious Dark Helmet hatches a plan to snatch Princess Vespa and steal her planet's air, space-bum-for-hire Lone Starr and his clueless sidekick fly to the rescue. Along the way, they meet Yogurt, who puts Lone Starr wise to the power of "The Schwartz." Can he master it in time to save the day?
