Dante Basco

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started this memoir, but I’m so glad I gave it a chance. Dante Basco’s candor, thoughtfulness, and empathetic perspective taking made what could have been just another mediocre celebrity memoir into not only an enjoyable read but also an eye-opening, resonating experience. While many people will be able to appreciate this work, I think it is especially useful for artists of any kind (particularly artists of color) as many of the lessons Basco has show more learned throughout his acting career can be applied more broadly to producing other forms of art. When I publish a memoir someday, I hope I can showcase even a portion of the vulnerability, authenticity, and thoughtfulness that Dante Basco did with this book. show less
