What a splendid book - kind of like an adult version of The Dangerous Book for Boys.

Despite the title it contains several projects that I think you could well be fired for having in your desk space (the book leads with plans for a guillotine and a crossbow, for example), and all the projects would require a great deal of skill to execute satisfactorily. What I love about this book though is the information on making jigs and on tool choices. I would describe the projects as a platform for show more describing a way of working rather than as practical artefacts in themselves.

So, read this book as a lesson in how to improvise and in how to think about fabricating things. That's what I have been enjoying about it. show less
