The first Sweet Dreams book I started out with - it got me hooked on the entire series for a large number of my teen years. It was such a sweet story, funny too in some parts even though I no longer remember exactly which parts. I just remember my sister staring at me funny whenever I laughed out loud while reading the book. I suspect it'll always hold a special place in my heart as one of the first teen books I had read after moving on from Judy Blume's books and such during elementary.
This book is one that I bought new in 1981. Read it many times back then and am now reading through these pb romance series again in 2009. It is as sweet a story as I remember. Frannie is very shy and her friends decide on a plan for her to overcome her shyness especially around boys. The plan does well, but Frannie fails to grab the attention of the one boy she is most interested in. She also needs to convince her friends that the boy she wants is worthy of her attention.

Frannie's friends come up with a plan for her to become popular. Soon she's become so popular that the boy she IS interested in will barely even talk to her. An interesting story about popularity, friendship, and growing up.
