James Opie

James Opie has catalogued toy soldiers for over forty years and is currently the toy soldier and figure consultant to C T Auctions. He is recognized as one of the world's leading experts on the subject. He has a very significant collection of his own, which he has been refining since childhood. A show more member of the British Model Soldier Society since the then minimum age of eighteen,, he is now the committee member responsible for the monthly National London and Online meetings. He has tried wargaming, converting, exhibiting, commissioning and just about every other possible activity with the exception of casting toy soldiers himself. For over a quarter of a century until his retirement, James Opie was also Editor of the Military and Aviation Book Society and various other book clubs. He has written nine books on various aspects of toy soldier collecting, and lives in London. show less
