An excellent cross section of some of the aircraft used in World War One; numerous photographs, three view drawings, schematics, artwork and descriptions of various DeHavilland aircraft, the Be-2 series, and the more well-known Sopwith, Albatros, Nieuport and Fokker-produced fighters…top-heavy on British aircraft, but these were published in the UK so that was not surprising, although it would have been nice to have included Italian and Russian aircraft at some point too.

The AIRCRAFT ARCHIVE series brings together, in a thematic and organized manner, selections of some of the best of these designs, many of which are hailed as masterpieces of the draughtsman's art. Each book covers a number of aircraft of a particular period or type and, although the emphasis is firmly on the drawings and detailed aspects of these drawings, each aircraft section includes information on technical data and numerous black and white photographs.
