Oh, I like this one. Despite the "I am not worthy", and the several rather explicit sex scenes. The relationship between Zelli and Tahlen is wonderful, as is Zelli's attitude towards - well, everyone. Or at least everyone who isn't actively trying to kill him. Nice to see Arden and Mil again (or before, in their timeline). Zelli's gifts are fascinating. I started the book late at night, and couldn't put it down even when my eyes were trying to close.
Oh, nice. Mattin is painfully oblivious - a serious case of "I am not worthy". But it's lovely nonetheless. There are a couple sex scenes, only one (long one) explicit, but this is _very_ much about the relationship. Relationships. Mattin doesn't want to get between Arden and Mil - wants that badly enough that he keeps his eyes closed to his own emotions for a very long time. But he's got his own connections to both, once he finally admits it. Politics and assassination attempts and show more spectacle for others - but also honest speaking and untangling emotions and - yeah. This is one of the good ones. I like this better than Blessed - that was good, this is better, without the push of "lust-fever". I'd love to read the story of Arden's coming to the throne - we get told what happened, but that's far from the full story. I doubt it'll be written, though. That's not really a romance, not like this is. Still, there are other stories in this universe - next, please! show less
How to define this one. It's short, and yet fully packed, single point of view, yet all the characters are terrific. It is shockingly clever in the best ways. This author trusts her readers to pay attention.
Our point of view is with the quiet one, who over the course of the past year has memorized everything about the chatty geek--or he thinks he has. But the chatty one tries upping his game, and there is a revelation--honestly, I am impressed. Great writer. Great story. Read this one.

When I started reading this I did not expect it to take me about 6 hours to read less than 150 pages, but right from the start I had to go slowly and put myself in Chico's awkward, adorable, deep, stumbling, beautiful shoes, and I had to feel everything and put myself 100% into this world.
I don't know exactly what it was about this...the passion, the fear, the realism and fantastical spirit spun together, the parallels made to the beautiful Clockwork Dancer ballet and story, Chico and Rafael show more and their incredible and soul-searing connection and passionate looks...but it was amazing and a completely wonderful experience, and reinforced what I want.
This story was beyond good or amazing for me. I love it so much. show less
