I learned a lot from this book. It's a perfect choice for beginners and it worked well for me in the field. It's small (yet thorough for a pocket guide) and it features a set of very useful pictures of bird silhouettes. I'd rather see some more detailed distribution maps or information on estimated population size, but still, this book is great. Look for updated edition.
A very useful guide for beginers and experts alike. Very easy to carry in a pocket or rucsack. Makes a good present for folks you know who like to walk.
Handy sized and comprehensive. Nice, clear photos Useful information to help you identify birds you see. I have several bird books but this is the one I carry most of the time.
