I received a copy of this ebook as part of Library Thing Early Reviewers.
A quippy little book of clever not quite poems. Some of the sections are punctuated by delightful comics, which have a style reminiscent of the singles panels I used to read when print newspapers where in wider circulation. I was massively entertained. 4 stars

This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers. This is a delightful poetry book. I particularly enjoyed the puns and plays on words. And the plays on situations. There was also a certain poignancy at the end of many of the poems that would strike me and that left me thinking. Would recommend to all who enjoy puns and plays on words as well as those who enjoy a certain breeziness to their poems.
This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.Quite often when I see the list of free books on Library Thing I notice that my taste is quite opposite from the average reader on that site. This mostly means that the popular requests are not to my liking, while the ones with few requests might be something for me.
Exception to that rule is this book. It was popular, but it was also the only book in last month’s batch that seemed remotely interesting. I registered and was picked.
Light verse is the category I guess, I’ve read several show more Dutch authors in this genre, follow a great English author (Brian Bilston) on FB. Meyer wrote several nice little stories, that resemble, the way he wrote them down, poetry. He himself writes a disclaimer at the start of the book, probably to avoid criticism from fanatics.
Certainly, I enjoyed reading this little book, though it didn’t live up to my expectations. I’ve definitely read better in this genre.

This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.I found this collection to be quirky and fun. I must share a thought pattern with the author, as many of the things he discusses have crossed my mind more than once! This was a quick read with a twist of humor and a very pleasant way to pass some time.
