Substance: A collection of quotations and anecdotes about Mozart, including his own. Some are more interesting than others. Some are humorous. The juxtaposition of positive and negative judgments about Mozart and his work show that almost everything really is in the eye of the beholder (or ear of the listener).
Style: The tidbits themselves are short and have minimal reference information (name of source, book if applicable; no dates or page numbers). The collector's line drawings of Mozart show more are whimsical. show less
An illustrated anthology of notes, quotes and anecdotes about (and occasionally by) Mozart. The short pieces come from a wide range of writers, musicians, composers, performers and philosophers including Oscar Wilde, Schubert, Wagner, Einstein and Nietzsche.
