- Pseudonym of Harry Collinson Owen. He came from a long line of Welsh socialists, amongst whom was Robert Owen, father of modern socialism, but he himself was a snob who held right-wing views. He lived in Paris before World War 1 and during the war became a journalist on the Western Front. Later he edited the British Army newspaper Balkan News, for the Balkan front. He published "Salonica and After" in 1919, a book containing primary source material. He wrote further novels and non-fiction. During the 1930s he became involved in far-right politics.
