Not a bad introduction to ethernet technology but not really what I was hoping for. There was altogether too much network manager material (how long runs can be, what type of cable to use in what situation) and not at all enough of what I particularly wanted (a discussion of the electrical and coding aspects of gigabit ethernet).
But, to be fair, while the treatment of gigabit ethernet was very unsatisfactory, it did pretty much resolve every other question I had regarding ethernet.
