Twin ghosts, girl named Reagan in Name that Book (January 2012)
Reviews
I found this book while organizing a library of used books for an English Institute in Korea. What caught my attention was "old-fashioned romance set during the Civil War" printed on the cover. Historial fiction is one of my favorite genres. The story actually begins a couple of years before the Civil War and it took the author half of the book to bring you to the war which made for a slow moving story for me. Overall, I felt the author did a splendid job of writing and found it to be a show more fairly quick read. show less
I definitely liked the character of Rachel- she was a good person, a hard worker, and interesting. The part in the back about Rachel's ghost made me wonder though- I'm guessing this was based on a real person. How true to her story is it?
Cindy has two older sisters who are going to college while she's just starting middle school. She wants to be a writer and nothing seems to go right at first, but it works out.
