This is a great book for showing in a simple manner the miraculous life of a butterfly. Told from the perspective of the transforming butterfly, children will be able to access the natural process and learn something new.
A favourite from the first time it was read. As with other DK books this has photographs against a white background as illustrations. It follows the self narrated story of a giraffe from birth to 12 months old.

This very simple, easy-to-read book talks about how giraffes live through how they grow. Photographs show the giraffes getting progressively older and older, and explain elements of their lives, such as what they eat. The only criticism I might have of this book is the fact that the giraffes are pictured on a white background, so we don't have as much context for how they grow.
I like books that show the progression through time. Of course it was a good idea to have this cow as a milk cow and not a beef or milk-fed veal cow.
