As a Dodger fan, I did enjoy this book. It covers the 1988 and 89 seasons, so the year they won the World Series, and the year after. Lots of great pictures and several surprises, like Ernie Banks in a Dodger uniform, and Tom Berrenger doing research for the movie "Major League"! And the book does seem to cover any and all aspects of a "day in the season", from the opening of the gates, to the clean up after the game. I don't think they missed a thing!

However, this is a very short read due show more to nearly half the book being photos. And the writing is a bit low level, almost like a book for kids. Which isn't altogether bad, just not terribly engrossing for an adult. Still, the photos make it all worth it, and I'm sure any LA fan would be happy to read it! show less
A pleasant read with lots of illustrations describing the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce and its role in selling Los Angeles as a fabulous place where you can pick oranges while gazing at snow capped mountains. Both sides of my family moved here in the 20s so they may have seen the ephemera shown here. I certainly enjoyed it.
