Ed buys a building for his growing family and learns what most men these days already know. Never buy a house your wife hasn't seen. I don't know if or not this is really true, (I totally got burned by that Amityville Story and am now skeptical of all things true hauntings) but if it is, wow. He was sold a haunted building with no notice of the history of the place. He then moves on to do the same to others. Kind of a Malfoy move, really, but at least he makes good in the end. Still, it was show more a very entertaining read. show less
I loved this story! I felt as if I was experiencing the haunting along with the family. When I wasn't reading it I was looking forward to the time I could start reading again.
At the age of 24 the author becomes a landlord. His pleasure at purchasing a 2 family apartment building at such a low price is short lived though it takes him awhile to admit all of their troubles are due to ghosts. The author tells the story of what he and his wife experienced, as well, as his tenants. When his first show more floor tenants moved out his sister and her family moved in. It did not take long for the fun and games to end and the terror began.
A must read for anyone that loved the paranormal. show less

In Becker’s novel, he recounts the story of his purchase of a bargain house. The house needed work as most houses do, but they also were tasked with evicting the “crazy” woman living in the downstairs apartment. Becker did both before moving his family into their new home.
In a straight forward, no-nonsense approach, Becker tells the story of the negative affect the property had on all those who entered and the Church’s refusal to assist them which finally forced him to seek out help show more from paranormal investigators.
This is the story of a haunted house—a house haunted by several ghosts—and the impact it had on the living. While not told in a sensational manner, it is told with such chilling detail it made the hair on the back of arm stand up and take notice.
Lovers of the supernatural will get a thrill until the very end. show less

This book was a followup to the first book. I found it not to be as creepy as the first book, but it was still a great true paranormal read, so I gave it 4 stars.
