This was my first Robin Mahle book, and won’t be my last. I started it yesterday and finished it this morning—I just couldn’t put it down. The suspense had me hooked because I needed to know what really happened.
I felt the emotions of the characters (and I like this when reading a book - if you can make me feel - you did it right), and I had so many questions right from the beginning. The title is Not Her Daughter, but at first it almost felt like she was. You find out pretty quickly show more she isn’t, but that just left me needing to know more—how did she get the baby, what happened to her husband, how did the mother die? The book drops hints here and there, but you have to wait for the answers, which kept me turning the pages.
Just when I thought I had it figured out—I didn’t. That suspense kept me on my toes the whole time. This was a great, easy, read, and I can’t wait to read my next Robin M. book.
Thank you to @NetGalley for this ARC and @Joffe Books show less

I was given a copy of the book by the author to read - my first time reading this author - and man am I thankful I was chosen as one of the ARC’s for this book.
First off, not for the weak of heart. The author does an amazing job of creating a story around a story before you realize it’s happening. I found myself sucked in from the first paragraph of Chapter 1 and stayed that way throughout the entire book. “Flames licking my back. Screams……” tell me how show more that doesn’t make your mouth drop open and your heart beat double time making your mind wonder where is this going??? So many times throughout the book I thought I had unraveled the mystery of EVERYTHING going on only to find out how wrong I was. From the main character to the supporting characters there were no stones left unturned when it came to letting you get to know them - but it wasn’t in a drawn out “oh my gosh can you get to it already” kind of way. Twists, turns and valleys but they are all worth going through to get to the truth!! I know this is all vague but I do NOT want to give any spoilers to the book but I will tell you this one thing, make sure to read the ENTIRE book as to finish out the story!!!
PS I finished this book in less than one day because I couldn’t put it down!!! show less

"All The Lies They Told” by Robin Mahle is a fast-paced, action-packed 5-star thriller! Lexi and Skye walk home together every day after school because their parents believe they are safer that way. One night, they do not make it home. Panic sets in, and their parents will stop at nothing to find them.
I absolutely loved this book! The writing was wonderful, and the plot was well executed. The chapters are short, and the multiple POVs covering each of the girls and all the parents keep the show more story moving as we see what each character is doing and thinking. There were some questionable actions from the parents, but who knows how anyone would respond in a situation like this. This story does include sensitive subject matter, so I recommend checking the trigger warnings before reading.
This was my first book by Robin Mahle, and I am now an instant fan! I recommend it for fans of psychological thrillers.
Thanks to Robin Mahle for providing me with the opportunity to read this ARC and share my honest review. show less

A very well written Police procedural clever descriptive intelligent storytelling with plenty of surprises and twists along the way. Totally engaging from first to last page a taut tense thrilling read. This is the second book in the series and while there are a few references to the first book, it in no way stops you reading this book as a standalone story. show more Rebecca Ellis our lead detective is brave feisty smart and I look forward to reading more books in the series.
