Frank Dobias was an American children's book illustrator. Born in Austria in 1902, he emigrated to the United States in the 1920s, launching a career as a book illustrator. He often worked for Macmillan, and is particularly known for their 1927 edition of Little Black Sambo, which became a best-seller in Japan.

There are color illustrations throughout. An excellent resource for children about early aviation.
