Sunflower was written by the wife of an Indiana congressman in the late 1970s. It was much admired in Indiana and was quite popular for a time. A crack CIA agent is given an assignment to kidnap the President's daughter as a way of flushing out a very highly placed mole in the US intelligence service. All is not, of course, as it seems and soon the agent is on his own trying to protect his life and the life of a child. The book owes more to James Bond than John Le Carre and the body count is show more ridiculous, but I finished it just to see how it ended. show less
