This is a graphic novel I ordered for use in my secondary science classes. Readers follow the life of Isaac Newton from childhood to his discovery of gravity and the laws of motion. The graphic novel format may engage students who would otherwise disregard the biography of a famous scientist, and Newton’s discoveries at age eleven may inspire them to persevere in their studies. Although Newton asks himself, “Can I describe the apple’s motion using mathematics?” no mathematical show more explanation for the second law of motion appears in the text. In addition, the text is only 32 pages long, including front matter and index. The graphic novel therefore serves as a supplemental, rather than primary, text for secondary science. show less
Kids will love reading graphic and comic style format learing about Isaac Newton and his famous laws of motion that changed science forever.
