I am by no means a nature girl, but there is something about a good story set in nature that sets my heart aflutter. Maybe deep down I wish I could be more of an outdoorsy type and so I live vicariously through stories like Yosemite Firestorm. Maybe that’s why the descriptions of the hikes were some of my favorite parts. I’ve never went on a real hike before, but I’ve always wanted to, and reading about the waterfalls and the other scenery inspired my imagination, and set the perfect show more tone for the story.
Let me just say, I can’t even imagine how terrifying a fire storm is! Tornadoes are scary enough, and I’ve dealt with a few in my lifetime, but when you add a fire component to it, it is almost unimaginable! I felt like I was right there on the mountain with Hayden and Livy, experiencing every spark, the chemistry between them smoldering as much as the embers from the fires, as well as the suspense from being chased by menacing bad guys, which never let up. I did feel like Hayden was way too hard on himself for his past “mistake” but I also loved his redemption story. The ending was perfectly sweet but overly predictable, which sadly kind of ruined it for me. I was hoping for a little twist that never came.
Overall, this was a quick, enjoyable read that would be the perfect weekend novel to get lost in. Strong characters, wonderful suspense, and picturesque backdrop, even if it is a little charred, and you’ve got yourself one entertaining story.

This is an exciting and intense story centered around a human trafficking ring and I found myself wondering if these victimized women would ever find freedom. Each time Deputy Sheriff Austin Turner and domestic violence counselor Dulcie Parker are close to finding the leaders of the ring, some one tips them off. It's apparent that there's wide spread corruption but will Dulcie and Austin become targets also?
I've never seen New Mexico or the Mesa Verde National Park and I loved learning about show more the Four Corners region. If you stand on the Four Corners Monument you're in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah. Author Tanya Stowe paints a beautiful picture of the open flatlands and the mountains that change from lavender and purple to mauve and gray as the sun goes down. I'm convinced that this is a place I need to visit!
She also offers a poignant look at the fragile relationship between Dulcie and Austin as they each struggle with their own demons. Dulcie is herself a victim of domestic violence and Austin has suffered great loss. Is there a chance that these wounded souls may find a healing bond together?
If you are looking for action, mystery, and a reminder of God's provision, you will want to read Vanished in the Mountains. It is enjoyable Christian romantic suspense from Love Inspired Suspense.

"It was a pathogen. A virus that kills plants. It had multiplied with nothing to feed on.... Airborne, it could travel the world and kill every living plant in its path."
Not long ago a book about bio-terrorism might have seemed unrealistic but this new book by Tanya Stowe seems very plausible in today's society. Biologist Sassa Nilsson and a Border Patrol Agent find themselves in a deadly race to stop a crop virus that would destroy the world's food chain and they are involved in intrigue show more and extreme danger all of the way. Sassa is a brilliant scientist and a divorced mother who has learned to stand on her own but she may have to accept protection for her and her little girl. Can Jared De Luca keep them safe as he and Sassa try to discover the terrorist's identity? is it possible for two deeply scarred people to find happiness again? Will Sassa's deep faith prove a beacon for Jared's faltering belief?
Author Tanya Stowe kept me guessing as I joined Sassa and Jared in their non-stop efforts to identity the bad guys....and I do mean bad! If you enjoy romantic suspense and faith-based fiction, you will certainly enjoy Killer Harvest!

I love a book with a strong and intelligent heroine who knows her mind. In Killer Harvest, Sassa Nilsson is just that. Even though someone is after her, she is fiercely protective of her daughter and doesn’t give up on the task set before her. Add in a border patrol agent who melts with a certain baby in his arms, and yeah, I’m a goner.
While Tanya Stowe’s newest release isn’t as intense as many of the Love Inspired Suspense books, the pacing never gets bogged down and I enjoyed the show more larger focus on the relationship between Jared and Sassa. The attention to the details of the personal interactions made the happily ever after that much sweeter and I didn’t wonder whether these two would make it after the danger and adrenaline were gone.
The setting and the plot are memorable and unique too, making this book a well-developed romantic suspense that I could have kept on reading.
