A Sister's Place by author Savannah Page is a lovely story about the bonds of sisterhood, and how a beloved grandmother's legacy takes a pair of sisters on a year long journey of rediscovering how special a sisterly relationship that they truly have.

I have enjoyed reading author Savannah Page's When Girlfriends ... series, so when I saw that she wrote a women's fiction story about the special bonds of sisterhood, I knew that I just had to read it. From the wonderful book cover, to the show more enticing book description, the author weaves a poignant tale that pulls at the heartstrings and stirs the soul, as the reader follows the year long emotional journey of self-discovery for sisters Gracie and Juliette Bennett.

When Grandma Mimi passes away and leaves the cherished Santa Barbara family home to the sisters, she has one stipulation: that Gracie and Juliette must live together in the house for one year. Grandma Mimi's last wishes forces the sisters to come together and embark on a journey to rekindle their relationship after years of distance had loosened their bonds of sisterhood. As the year long journey progresses, the reader follows along as the sisters share experiences and deal with trials and tribulations as they try to reestablish their relationship, facing the past, and embracing the present, in the hope of attaining the love, friendship, and restrengthening of the unique and special bonds that sisters share.

As an only child who lived vicariously through my Mom's relationship with her four sisters, I couldn't help but become captivated by Gracie and Juliette's story, and relate to the undeniable bonds that come with sisterhood. This is a story that all sisters should share and read together, whether you are blood sisters or sisters that are formed from friendships. There is nothing more special than a story that promotes the message of the importance of honoring the unique relationship bonds that are formed and strengthened between women, even with the struggles, challenges, disappointments, and accomplishments that come with the progression of an individual's path in life.

A Sister's Place is a touching story about sisters and family relationships that will take the reader on a sentimental journey where they will experience the full gamut of emotions, and leave them with a heartwarming feeling that will resonate with them for a long time.

In When Girlfriends Find Love, the seventh and final installment of the When Girlfriends ... collection, author Savannah Page transports the reader back to Seattle for one last visit with the six best girlfriends that we've come to know and love: Claire, Sophie, Robin, Lara, Jackie and Emily. I can think of no better way to end a collection of wonderful friendship stories than to have it come full circle with Sophie giving the readers an update on her story!

Sophie, oh Sophie, I see so much show more of you in me ... I definitely could relate to her on so many levels ... yup I am also an obsessive-compulsive, control-freak ... oh hell, I am a Scorpio after all. (wink, wink). Needless to say, I love Sophie and was completely captivated as she took us on one last when girlfriends journey of self-discovery. No matter how much Sophie thought that she could control everything in her life, true love has a funny way of sneaking up on you when you least expect it, and it makes sure that you lose all control when the pitter patter of romantic heartbeats and feelings take over. From memories of past failed relationships to opening herself up again to finding true love, Sophie's journey is a mixture of wonderful sensory treats, heartwarming romance, and a strong supportive bond of sisterly friendship.

I really enjoyed catching up with all six girlfriends, the author does a great job of intertwining all of the latest news about each of the girls within the main storyline. She has a smooth style of integrating snippets from the previous books' storylines into the current book that makes it easy for the reader to feel like they haven't missed a thing while waiting to read the next installment in the collection.

I loved each of the books in the collection, but I have to applaud the author on saving the best story for last. I loved the mixture of humor and drama, these six girls are a hoot to follow and they sure do keep the reader thoroughly entertained!

This is such a fun collection to read, the six girlfriends continue to show what true friendship is all about: through good and bad times, thick and thin, ups and downs, love and heartbreak, and every trial and tribulation that befalls them, these six lovely ladies are supportive and always there for each other. I am so sad to see this collection end, but oh what a fun ride!

If you are looking for a fast-paced, thoroughly fun and entertaining collection of Chick Lit stories that celebrates womanhood and the strong bonds of friendship, then When Girlfriends collection ... is a must read, you won't be disappointed!

I was really excited to finally get to Jackie Kittredge's story in the "When Girlfriends" series. Based on tidbits told from Laura's and Emily's stories it seemed that Jackie grew up poor and abused by her family and managed to graduate college with all of the other girls. The queen of bad decisions with regards to her boyfriends or jobs she always needed her friends to step in and bail her out.

With this story now focused on Jackie we have her providing details on her life married to her show more husband Andrew. Andrew is a wealthy man in his 50s and Jackie is getting sick of how much time Andrew spends at work and starts thinking he is having an affair. Combine that with the upheaval in Laura and Claire's lives along with Sophie trying to make her business work and Emily planning her next adventure Jackie is starting to fill left out with regards to her friends lives.

I only gave this novel in the series 3 stars since I felt it lacked background on Jackie, there was very little growth on Jackie's side until the very end of the story, and I honestly did not buy that she and her husband had some great love story going on at all.

Regarding the backstory on Jackie. We do get some details here and there but its all pretty much glossed over about her family. We do get to hear some stories about her back in college but once again it was just told as an aside to something else. I never felt as if I truly got to know Jackie.

Jackie's lack of growth as a friend and wife was rampant throughout 90 percent of the novel. We do finally have her showing some growth towards the end but not in a way that I thought was healthy. I really wish that all of the friends had verbally smacked her around since she reminds me of way too many ex-friends of mine who were constant drama queens. Being around that kind of person all of the time is draining.

Finally, as I said Jackie's marriage to Andrew was just not written to show why in the world either one of them were with the other besides money for Jackie to spend and Andrew being married to a hot younger woman.

It seems as if there is going to be one more story in the "When Girlfriends" series and I hope that one ends on a good note. Also it would be really great if Savannah Page actually has some surprises up her sleeve instead of moving two characters I really don't think belong together towards each other.

I would recommend to fans of the series who want to catch up with all of the girls.

I have been reading Savannah Page's "When Girlfriends" series for a little while now. To date, my favorite from that series off the top of my head was, When Girlfriends Step Up.

This novel focuses on the fifth girl in our ensemble, Emily Saunders. Emily is a trust fund baby who does not need to work, but does work part time at her friend Sophie's cafe (see When Girlfriends Break Hearts) and freelances as a photographer. Emily definitely loves to travel, however, doesn't know if she will ever show more find the one like her friends since she cannot see herself staying in one place for too long.

When Emily mentions thinking about traveling again, her friends decide that all of them will set her up with a blind date so that she can finally see about committing to someone and find love.

I would suggest first time readers start with "When Girlfriends Break Hearts". That novel was the weakest in the series for me. However, you need to start there to get all of the relationships straight in your head and also to know what characters are talking about when they refer to past events. Ms. Page assumes the readers have been reading right along in order so she does not feel the need to re-introduce every little thing (thank goodness) but does refer to things to ensure that a cold reader would not be confused about what characters are discussing.

I am very happy that with Emily's story Ms. Page provides more details on Seattle, Pike Place Market, the parks, everything.

I was also happy that with Emily's character we got more insight into Jackie and more of the other girls as well.

The only reason why I dropped this half a star was because I thought it was a bit much that all of Emily's friends pretty much acted that until she found the one she was never going to be committed to anything. I found Emily very committed to finding what works for her, her work, her friends, and her resolve to return to Africa. Since I am a traveler (semi-retired) I felt myself more emphatic to Emily's character since I have friends who are constantly trying to fix me up and don't understand why I am single. I also want to say just like in the last book that Clarie (When Girlfriends Chase Dreams) was still annoying. I don't like that she sticks her nose in everything and seems to feel that when she is ready to get married or have kids her now husband needs to get on the same page. I know that Emily said she was glad to see Claire back to normal but I really didn't see that.

Would definitely recommend to fans of the series!
