I completely disliked all of these characters. They were all truly despicable and I almost wanted them all to just die. But, all that's in a good way. However, I feel like most of them were not fully fleshed out except for the initial main character. The story was fast-paced and kept me engaged. I liked the attention to detail of the end for placement. But, not giving away spoilers, I was left with a good deal of questions regarding certain evidence named by the killer. Was it there? Was show more there documentation, copies, or important information like that? I was frustrated that these smart characters would just leave those details out of their well-thought-out handling.

This book is told from Nathan’s point of view, so far he is only whining and complaining about his wife who he knows nothing about, and how his gut is telling him that Lizzy did not kill Allison. It still had a great direction in which the story went, however, I feel that who Nathan was in the first book is the the same in this one. I wish that some of his strength and perseverance was carried over instead of how he was projected here.

This novella popped up as a suggestion in a discounted/free ebooks group I'm a member of, and I found it to be an entertaining gem. The story reads kind of like a plot from the game Left 4 Dead: a young woman making her way and trying to survive in a world plagued with a zombie-like disease. I was glad to find a zombie story that did not rely on shock factor and gore to add to its appeal! The story perhaps was a bit cliche at times, but overall I found myself very fascinated about Marin's show more adventures with Zac and Alice.
The one thing that really detracted from the story for me was the editing. There were some odd sentence fragments, as well as grammatical and spelling-type errors (bazaar rather than bizarre, manor rather than manner, etc). I was able to push past these and enjoy the story, but they did detract from my ability to fly through it.
Definitely a good effort, and I suspect I'll be keeping an eye out for more from this author! show less

Wow! This book was crazy! Just when you think it’s going one way, it goes another. Never slowing down. I read this in pretty much one sitting because I couldn’t put it down. One twist right after another, you think it’s going one way then bam! This book does end with a sort of cliff hangar, and thankfully, I am going to start in on the next book to see where this one will go.
