A mild collection that shows an obvious link to it's original format as newspaper columns: each essay is neatly wrapped up in a few pages. A roughly chronological series of reflections on life in the North Woods, with appreciation for small town life, fishing, and becoming a parent.
Not a momentous book that I'll make room for on my shelves, but would be good to leave in the bathroom for guests' quick reads. My autistic son enjoys it because it deals with concrete experiences of things he is show more familar with (boats, woods walks) show less
