The original Harmony Guides were published in the 1980s and 1990s by at least two companies: Lyric and Collins & Brown. The Harmony Guide to Knitting Stitches (Lyric) was re-titled as 450 Knitting Stitches: Volume 2 (Collins & Brown). The Harmony Guide to Knitting Stitches, Volume 2 (Lyric) was re-titled as 440 More Knitting Stitches: Volume 3 (Collins & Brown). The concept show more of this work is similar to Barbara G. Walker's "Treasury of Knitting Patterns" and subsequent volumes. Many of these stitch patterns can also be found in her works. What is unique in this volume is the use of 2 and 3 colors for a pattern. Since the photos are in color, the reader has a better notion of how a stitch might work with a garment.
I prefer the Walker volumes because of the additional information she passes on about how to use the fabric in garments, but nonetheless, this volume is certainly useful.

I understand that this version of the series is going out of print, to be replaced by a new series that is organized differently. I'll probably buy it too.
