My 2-year-old nephew randomly selected some of the books in this series off the shelves at the local library. Seeing that they were labeled easy readers for kindergarteners through third graders, I thought they would be too long to hold his attention and too difficult for him to understand. I was pleasantly surprised to find that each spread contained only one short sentence of a text and a full-page photograph perfectly illustrating the text. With only 16 pages of “story,” these were show more the perfect sized books for him, and we went through quite a few in one sitting. For older readers, the book’s supplementary materials – a glossary, a “learn more” section, and an index – may also come in handy. show less

This is a very short book about the Loch Ness monster. It's very simple, with vivid photographs to draw a reader in. This is the kind of book I would recommend to someone who has never heard of Nessie before, because the information in this book is very simple and easy to understand.

An informational book about the myth of Bigfoot. There are cool graphics and more current technology used for illustrations. This could be used to explain text features to students with a topic that is interesting.
