Reviews
A moving story of the life of an above average county cricketer who was close to playing for England, and of his decline following injury, hastened by the indifference and sometimes hostility of the moneyed amateurs who ran the sport,
Strange bowling action on the front cover. Perhaps that's where Teddy Lamb's troubles come from. Some say this is the best cricket novel; others don't say that. Nice cover design in the Pocket Book series, though. The kangaroo jumping up and down on the stand must be distracting the batsman who may, of course, just be taking guard.
