I really enjoyed this book - though it was pretty clear that she had to give it a positive spin if she wanted to keep her job - so there wasn't a feeling of getting the whole story. It reminded me a lot of the Academy in Sherwood Smith's Inda, which I guess is because Smith did such a good job of the fictional one.
This details one woman’s personal journey through Army Officer Training at Sandhurst, giving an honest and reflective depiction of her stark transition from city banker to army officer. This book is ideal for anyone, particularly females, who might be considering a career as an Officer in the British Army and who would benefit from a detailed image of what life will be like at Sandhurst. The narrative is similar to a journal and is easy to follow, engaging and inspiring. It is worth noting show more that this is the personal experiences of one Officer Cadet and does not therefore offer a general overview or detailed factual information about Officer Recruitment and training.
This book is shelved in the Occupational Section under ‘D’.
