My Thoughts....

A beautiful erotic romance that I found a very intriguing novella read that was about Savannah Burnett and Joe Farrington who meant at his brothers wedding in Barbados. I found the read a little predictable but still a well told story that will keep you turning the pages to the very end. It show more was quite a read of how these two people meant and will be brought back together in quite a surprising way...through work...Will there careers become a problem? Now, what problems will this present to them? There was definitely a attraction that will present some erotic romance that will give the reader quite a hot steamy passionate sexy read. What were some of the rules that Savannah thought she had in place due to some rules from a previous encounter? I like all the characters...[Savannah & Joe] including the secondary characters [Noah & Amara] to name a few who were well developed, portrayed giving the reader a good erotic romantic good read. I liked that ending...leaving you wondering will they finally get to their HEA? show less

The book was short….but not short on character development and plot. Maya Taylor and Roman Newsome are likeable almost from the beginning. Throughout the book they are thoroughly believable. Not once did they do something so strange that made me shake my head. Yes, there were times when they weren’t too smart, but they are after all human.

I like to see characters who change and grow throughout the story. The authors accomplished that in this story. We were able to see the emotional show more growth in both characters. You cheer them on because you like them and want the couple to be happy.

Roman would have scared me away with his “playa” words. Some of the things he says sounds like something a guy would say in a romance novel or something he learned to say from reading romance novels. Scary. Maya may have questioned his words, but the chemistry between them was too strong for her to dismiss him totally.

Both Roman and Maya had relationship issues. Maya doesn’t trust men and she definitely doesn’t want another broken heart. Roman is looking for the perfect woman. Though they were both affected by their emotional baggage, it wasn’t first and foremost in the story. It was always there, but not slapping you in your face. An astute reader understood what was going on with them as a part of life. We are our pasts. What happens is unexpected! show less

My Opinion:

'For Once' was a sweet good romantic read. It was good to see how Carina and Salik got together...with her paying for his drink. I will say at least she found someone more interesting than that Richie fellow. It was a plus for Salik to meet Carina because he needed a change made in his life. I enjoyed the importance that Khalil Berry [his boss] had with show more Salik and for him to listen to the advice given. It was good to see this transformation being made and see that Dominique [Salik's office friend] got what she desired since she wasn't willing to take no for an answer. Carina came into the picture at the right time for Salik, and seeing them come together was a beautiful thing. show less

My Speculation:

The heart knows what the heart wants as it was for Zena and Rafael, who were made for each other from their first meeting. We find Rafael knew that Zena was indeed what he wanted. With Zena having had a fail marriage, we see her somewhat afraid, but one thing for sure, she was falling for Rafael, and he was nothing show more like her first husband. One thing about this story they both wanted to be loved, and it was interesting seeing if they will get there HEA. show less
