In general I tend to dislike books when they are not righteous enough. This book is almost too righteous, but I like the attitude. Baseball is a sport highly restricted to women due to firmly entrenched institutional sexism, and the author doesn't try to hide that in any kind of unbiased narrative. This book was definitely an eye-opener for me as far as the history of baseball and just how the entire system from Little League to major league recruitment is geared toward keeping girls and show more women out of this sport. show less
