"Rogues and Vagabonds" has a very large cast of characters; even at the end of the book I was sometimes still trying to figure out who some of them were and what their purpose in the story was. The series of events seems kind of random and mostly unrelated, and also gets harder and harder to believe as the story progresses. It felt a bit repetitive towards the end (I lost track of how many characters died or ended up in the hospital), but I still interested enough to read until the end.

There show more were a few characters I really enjoyed (Jeanne and Adam in particular) and I would have liked to read more about their stories. I think I would have enjoyed this book more if it focused on a couple of characters instead of jumping back and forth between everyone and their families.

The two things I loved most about "Rogues and Vagabonds" were the Canadian setting and the strong presence of theater. I learned a few things from this book so it was worth the time to read it. show less
