I mostly enjoyed this book. The story line is unique (or at least I haven't really read much like it) and the main character is strong and courageous. But Iltani is rather passive - she never really goes after what she wants. Although by the end she has grown as a character, the development isn't really enough to satisfy. But there is something riveting about the writing and the story line that drew me in and I flew through the pages.
OH MY! I could not put this book down, but my need for sleep had its way! I loved Ashyana, a scout for her father's army as she was his only heir and could not afford to go to war with his troops, but she was highly trained and she could hold her own against most. There was no way the she could fight the vast army of the enemy and she turned tail and rode to her father to report. I liked Crown Prince, of the Phoenix, Sorntar and his sense of duty, but can the two of them go back through time show more to undo an ancient wrong? show less
A great sequel to the first novel. The action, the profound love between Lillian and Gregory, the narration, all boils down to a great and compelling story.

I like the fact that we discovered more about Lillian's peculiar family. I also greatly loved the fact that every actions, every decisions does come with a consequence that must be dealt with. It gives a real aspect to a surreal story.

Fast-paced, a real page-turner this truly is a must read.

The final battle is ever growing near...
This book is the first in a series. However, it is so perfect that I am not sure I need to read any further. In this book we meet the Sorceress and the Gargoyle, a couple forever destined to be together as they are the work of the Mother and Father and their role is to keep the Gods and Goddesses apart and behaving. However, Gods and Goddesses even though they are few seem to come up with disproportionately majestic plans for domination over their realms. If the Spirit Realm and the magic show more realm ever breach into each other or the Earthly realm then mortals will be endangered and also many magical entities will lose their lives. From start to finish, this is a great read. show less
