what a story of endurance and willpower. it's kind of astonishing that this trip they took was made after only a few years of kayaking experience, not by people who have been kayaking for many years. i mean they're clearly experts, especially by the end, but still. i know that any experience like this by its nature is going to be a spiritual one, but i still had a little trouble with that part of the story, although i loved the friendship she had with betty so much, and how she carried her show more wherever she goes. what probably interested me the most wasn't talked about too much, and is the difference in the journeys that she and her paddling partner had. their experiences were so different, even as they were in the same place (most of the time) and paddling together (or close together) and camping in the same places. either way, quite a feat and a quick and interesting read. show less
