Definitely the best way to read Thoreau's Walden. I started it a couple times in the past but couldn't slog through the minutiea of it all. I love the themes and ideas of Walden: anti-materialism, striving for spiritual enlightenment, the beauty of nature, along with the struggle with machinery and animality, and of course simplicity. Being one with nature. So much to love here. The Cliff notes were great at summarizing the ideas, getting those great quotes, without having to suffer through show more the density, which I get cheapens it somewhat. But there are too many great books I haven't read yet. Blessings! show less
